Space Waves Endless Mode & Obstacles

Space Waves has one Endless run instead of selectable Easy/Medium/Hard modes — speed, gap size, and which obstacles appear all ramp up together the farther you fly.

Why just one mode

One tunnel that never stops changing

Instead of asking you to pick a difficulty before you start, Space Waves runs a single Endless tunnel that gets harder continuously the farther you fly. There is no menu decision to make — every run starts identical and diverges based purely on how well you fly it.

Difficulty over distance

Three stretches of a typical run

These are not selectable modes — they describe how a single run naturally progresses as your distance climbs. Speed and gap size scale smoothly, not in hard jumps; the ranges below are approximate.

  1. 01 · 0 – 300m

    Cruise

The tunnel opens with wide gaps and only wall gates. This stretch is about learning the feel of the thruster — how long a tap climbs, and how fast gravity pulls back.

  2. 02 · 300m – 1,200m

    Accelerate

Scroll speed rises, gaps tighten, and spike strips start mixing in with the gates. You need to commit to a lane earlier than you did in Cruise.

  3. 03 · 1,200m+

    Overdrive

Rotating gears join the mix, gaps sit near their minimum size, and the tunnel is at or near top speed. Every tap counts — this is where most runs end, and where your best score gets set.

Obstacle glossary

What you will actually see

Every hazard in Space Waves is one of three types. Later obstacles do not replace earlier ones — they mix in, so a late run has all three at once.

  • Wall gates

A neon wall spanning the full tunnel height with one gap. The gap shrinks and moves less predictably the farther you fly. This is the most common obstacle from the very first second.

  • Spike strips

A row of spikes jutting from the floor or the ceiling. Unlike a gate, there is no far side to a spike strip — you fly over it or under it, not through it. These start appearing after your first few hundred meters.

  • Rotating gears

A spinning hazard that sits mid-tunnel rather than spanning it. Its hitbox is a circle around the hub, so pass it with clear vertical room on one side. Gears show up once the tunnel is already moving fast.

There is no way to select or skip an obstacle type — variety is part of the challenge. See the tips page for how to handle each one.
